Background
This form of attack on Lacanian Psychoanalysis has been ongoing since at least 2005, or since the IPA dumped Jacques Lacan in 1953. (See for example Minutes of the meeting of the International Psychoanalytical Association : 30th July 1953 : Dr Heinz Hartmann (IPA President & Chairman of the Meeting) or www.LacanianWorks.org /4 Jacques Lacan or https://web.archive.org/web/20210305125523/http://www.lacanianworks.net/?p=12011 ) Bishop & Swenson poke unsubstantiated arguments at Lacanians using techniques to be found in the children’s playground game : I am King of the castle & you’re the dirty rascal. They extrapolate from the singular to general statements, with seemingly no realization of what they are doing. Further, their accusations are unfounded, as Éric Laurent carefully dissects.
